John T. Flynn, like other members of the Old Right, was disgusted by the irony that what he saw, almost everyone else chose to ignore. In the fight against authoritarian regimes abroad, he noted, the United States had adopted those forms of government at home, complete with price controls, rationing, censorship, executive dictatorship, and even concentration camps for whole groups considered to be unreliable in their loyalties to the state.

After reviewing this long history, John T. Flynn proceeds to sum up with a list of eight points he considers to be the main marks of the fascist state.

As I present them, I will also offer comments on the modern American central state.

Point 1. The government is totalitarian because it acknowledges no restraint on its powers.

This is a very telling mark. It suggests that the US political system can be described as totalitarian. This is a shocking remark that most people would reject. But they can reject this characterization only so long as they happen not to be directly ensnared in the state’s web. If they become so, they will quickly discover that there are indeed no limits to what the state can do. This can happen boarding a flight, driving around in your hometown, or having your business run afoul of some government agency. In the end, you must obey or be caged like an animal or killed. In this way, no matter how much you may believe that you are free, all of us today are but one step away from Guantanamo.

As recently as the 1990s, I can recall that there were moments when Clinton seemed to suggest that there were some things that his administration could not do. Today I’m not so sure that I can recall any government official pleading the constraints of law or the constraints of reality to what can and cannot be done. No aspect of life is untouched by government intervention, and often it takes forms we do not readily see. All of healthcare is regulated, but so is every bit of our food, transportation, clothing, household products, and even private relationships.

Mussolini himself put his principle this way: “All within the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State.” He also said: “The keystone of the Fascist doctrine is its conception of the State, of its essence, its functions, and its aims. For Fascism the State is absolute, individuals and groups relative.”

I submit to you that this is the prevailing ideology in the United States today. This nation, conceived in liberty, has been kidnapped by the fascist state.

Point 2. Government is a de facto dictatorship based on the leadership principle.

I wouldn’t say that we truly have a dictatorship of one man in this country, but we do have a form of dictatorship of one sector of government over the entire country. The executive branch has spread so dramatically over the last century that it has become a joke to speak of checks and balances. What the kids learn in civics class has nothing to do with reality.

The executive state is the state as we know it, all flowing from the White House down. The role of the courts is to enforce the will of the executive. The role of the legislature is to ratify the policy of the executive.

Further, this executive is not really about the person who seems to be in charge. The president is only the veneer, and the elections are only the tribal rituals we undergo to confer some legitimacy on the institution. In reality, the nation-state lives and thrives outside any “democratic mandate.” Here we find the power to regulate all aspects of life and the wicked power to create the money necessary to fund this executive rule.

As for the leadership principle, there is no greater lie in American public life than the propaganda we hear every four years about how the new president/messiah is going to usher in the great dispensation of peace, equality, liberty, and global human happiness. The idea here is that the whole of society is really shaped and controlled by a single will — a point that requires a leap of faith so vast that you have to disregard everything you know about reality to believe it.

And yet people do. The hope for a messiah reached a fevered pitch with Obama’s election. The civic religion was in full-scale worship mode — of the greatest human who ever lived or ever shall live. It was a despicable display.

Another lie that the American people believe is that presidential elections bring about regime change. This is sheer nonsense. The Obama state is the Bush state; the Bush state was the Clinton state; the Clinton state was the Bush state; the Bush state was the Reagan state. We can trace this back and back in time and see overlapping appointments, bureaucrats, technicians, diplomats, Fed officials, financial elites, and so on. Rotation in office occurs not because of elections but because of mortality.

Point 3. Government administers a capitalist system with an immense bureaucracy.

The reality of bureaucratic administration has been with us at least since the New Deal, which was modeled on the planning bureaucracy that lived in World War I. The planned economy — whether in Mussolini’s time or ours — requires bureaucracy. Bureaucracy is the heart, lungs, and veins of the planning state. And yet to regulate an economy as thoroughly as this one is today is to kill prosperity with a billion tiny cuts.

This doesn’t necessarily mean economic contraction, at least not right away. But it definitely means killing off growth that would have otherwise occurred in a free market.

So where is our growth? Where is the peace dividend that was supposed to come after the end of the Cold War? Where are the fruits of the amazing gains in efficiency that technology has afforded? It has been eaten by the bureaucracy that manages our every move on this earth. The voracious and insatiable monster here is called the Federal Code that calls on thousands of agencies to exercise the police power to prevent us from living free lives.

It is as Bastiat said: the real cost of the state is the prosperity we do not see, the jobs that don’t exist, the technologies to which we do not have access, the businesses that do not come into existence, and the bright future that is stolen from us. The state has looted us just as surely as a robber who enters our home at night and steals all that we love.

Point 4. Producers are organized into cartels in the way of syndicalism.

Syndicalist is not usually how we think of our current economic structure. But remember that syndicalism means economic control by the producers. Capitalism is different. It places by virtue of market structures all control in the hands of the consumers. The only question for syndicalists, then, is which producers are going to enjoy political privilege. It might be the workers, but it can also be the largest corporations.

In the case of the United States, in the last three years, we’ve seen giant banks, pharmaceutical firms, insurers, car companies, Wall Street banks and brokerage houses, and quasi-private mortgage companies enjoying vast privileges at our expense. They have all joined with the state in living a parasitical existence at our expense.

This is also an expression of the syndicalist idea, and it has cost the US economy untold trillions and sustained an economic depression by preventing the postboom adjustment that markets would otherwise dictate. The government has tightened its syndicalist grip in the name of stimulus.

9/11 most glaring evidence of Government Lies

September 11, 2001 was unquestionably a tragic day for America and the world.  While the 3,000-plus deaths on American soil elicited support and tears from around the world, now many international citizens resent or even despise the country that ratcheted up the War on Terror.

But for many in the country, and a staggering number of foreign citizens, the truth about what really took place on September 11, 2001 remains under relentless scrutiny and doubt.  The mainstream media and politicians love to pass these claims off as “conspiracy theories” (the threat of being a social outcast can get the best of us), but the facts tell a much different story.

The 9/11 coincidences and the governments coverup story

1. WAR GAMES ON 9/11 (AND THE LONDON BOMBINGS)

Were the hijackers lucky on 9/11… or had an insider tipped them off? That morning, the majority of the eastern air defense of NORAD was preoccupied with a war game that left many jets far away from Washington and New York.

In the first phone call between the air-traffic controller and NORAD, the first question out of the NORAD employee’s mouth is, “Is this real world or exercise?”

On July 7, 2005, the day of the London Bombings, London police were also running a simulated exercise: by a stroke of amazing coincidence that exercise revolved around a terrorism bombing in the London subways. Further, Mayor Guiliani happened to be in London advising on security.

2. ”A NEW PEARL HARBOR”

The Project for a New American Century (PNAC) was a neo-con think tank stacked with future members of President George W. Bush’s entourage including Dick Cheney, Jeb Bush, Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld, Scooter Libby,William Kristol and Richard Perle.  .

In September 2000, PNAC published a controversial and aggressive study called “Rebuilding America’s Defenses.” Among very concise outlines on military expansion in the Persian Gulf, the paper deduces “the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event — like a new Pearl Harbor.”

They say that if you want to find out who started a war, ask: “Who ended up with something in the end?”  Post September 11, the four horseman of PNAC (Cheney, Wolfowitz, Libby and Perle) were the main catalysts for moving into Iraq despite no WMDs. Is it all just a coincidence that the policy they advocated was fulfilled after only a year of power?

3. ALEX JONES PREDICTED 9-11, (BILL COOPER PREDICTED IT ONE MONTH BEFORE JONES)

On July 25, 2001, Alex Jones, the outspoken conspiracy theorist, predicted on his video report that the U.S government would carry out terrorist attacks against itself in what’s known as a false flag operation.  The attack would open the doors for a military invasion in the Middle East, expanding the power of corporate America and the military industrial complex, as well as extend martial law to American citizens.

In the midst of Jones’s freestyle predictions, he guesses Bin Laden will be blamed for hitting a target, “like the World Trade Center.”

Now it is important to note this, since Tru TV didn’t do their homework on this, we here at New World Order Report will explain for you where Jones got his info and where it started even before that.  Bill Cooper actually made the first public prediction, if you will, however, it looks to me like Cooper was referring to the Reuters article which appeared a few days prior, and in the process replaced MBC with CNN and ‘atttack US and Israeli interests’ with ‘attack the US and Israel’:

You see because the largest intelligence apparatus in the world with the biggest budget in the history of the world has been looking for osama bin laden for years and years and years and can’t find him. some doofus jerkoff reporter with a camera crew waltzes right into his hideout and interviews him and i’m telling you be prepared for a major attack , but it won’t be osama bin laden, it will be those behind the new world order. I wonder what “osama bin laden’s” targets are supposed to be? And if this doesn’t materialize within the next 2-3 weeks it will eventually materialize because they haven’t succeeded in getting the guns out of the hand of the American people, nor have they succeeded in taking our freedoms away. And so I can tell you with a certainty they must do something terrible in order to stop this backlash and regain the sympathy of the mass herds of sheeple out there. “

TV Report: Bin Laden Fighters Plan Anti-US Attack

LONDON (Reuters) – Followers of exiled Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden are planning a major attack on U.S and Israeli interests in the next two weeks, the Arabic satellite television channel MBC reported on Saturday.

The station, monitored by the BBC, broadcast a report from a correspondent in the Pakistani town of Quetta, who said he had met bin Laden two days ago in Afghanistan.

The MBC correspondent said he had met bin Laden at an unspecified location some three hours’ drive from the Afghan city of Kandahar. He had also talked with some of bin Laden’s followers.

“All of them affirm that the next two weeks will witness a big surprise. A severe blow is expected against U.S. and Israeli interests worldwide,” the reporter said.

4. PASSPORTS OF HIJACKERS FOUND INTACT

In an official statement by Susan Ginsberg of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks, she stated that three passports were found at the plane crash sites: two in Pennsylvania and one in New York.  Another passport was found in a piece of Mohammad Atta’s “left-behind luggage.”

This is an amazing coincidence for obvious reasons, but let’s state them anyway…

a) A fireball 100 stories high in a building that collapses to dust and debris leaves behind a perfect passport of one of the culprits to a crime, but it doesn’t leave behind the indestructible black boxes of the aircraft recorders.

b) A plane crash in which damage was particularly severe, leaving no human bodies, just pieces of corpses weighing in at no more than 600 pounds, and a jet engine virtually demolished, left two intact passports of the culprits.

c) While the rest of the country uses identification to board flights (State IDs for domestic travel, passports for international and non-American’s must provide either Green Cards or Passports), a foreign terrorist hijacker was able to board a flight while leaving his passport in his friend’s luggage. And that luggage also happened to name all 19 hijackers and their precise motives in carrying out the attacks on the morning of their deaths.

5. THE THERMITE-LIKE SLICES ON THE STEEL

BYU Professor Steven Jones has been on a crusade since 9/11, aiming to prove that the buildings had to collapse with a controlled demolition.  Jones claims that our eyes didn’t deceive us, that what we all witnessed as a demolition-like collapse was in fact a controlled demolition.

Jones is a physicist and did a study on the video from the towers that day. He spotted falling pieces of molten metal falling from the towers, including white ash, indicating levels of heat impossible to reach with burning jet fuel.  Instead that heat must have come from a substance like thermite, which also happens to be used in controlled demolitions to cut through steel.

FEMA even stated that one of the mysteries of the WTC 7 site was the sulfidiation and oxidation on the steel, which caused it to melt; however, FEMA walked away after “no clear explanation” was found.

6. STEEL STRUCTURES FALL DUE TO A FIRE?

No steel structure before (or since) had ever collapsed due to fire. While some steel buildings had burned a long time from fire, none has fallen because steel melts at a much higher temperature than gasoline, other fuels or combustibles normally found in buildings can burn at.

Despite this resistance to high temperature, on September 11, 2001, three of the most advanced steel structures in the world collapsed officially due to fire caused by burning jet fuel and structural damage due to the impact of the planes. This angle may not convince everyone of an alternate explanation for towers 1 and 2, but for tower 7, how can this be explained?

WTC 7 is considered by many conspiracy theorists to be the smoking gun of 9-11, because they argue is no plausible argument that can justify why a building that had no direct impact by the plane would burn so hot as to cause a first-of-its-kind collapse of a steel structure (aside from the towers hours earlier). Physicists like Steven Jones and scores of independent researchers from around the world agree.

7. DICK CHENEY’S APPOINTMENT

Fresh off The Project for a New American Century’s subtle musings for a new Pearl Harbor, Cheney got the task of essentially controlling the government in the event of a terrorist or war catastrophe.

While President Bush conveniently had his hands full with elementary school children, Cheney ran the government from an underground control room on 9/11 because the executive order by the President four months earlier had permitted Cheney to bypass the previous protocol.

8. HALLIBURTON

Halliburton, the conglomerate that provides defense, infrastructure and energy, also happens to be the company Dick Cheney was formerly CEO of before he became Vice President.

The same man who ran a company which profited hugely from 9/11 also helped start a think tank that pushed for a U.S. military presence in the Persian Gulf to shape the world according to America’s design. Meanwhile, that man’s very same company has now quietly and comfortably moved its entire operation to nearby rich Dubai.

9. 15 of 19 HIJACKERS WERE SAUDI ARABIAN

It’s no secret America and Saudi Arabia are business partners.  The Saudis supply much of our country’s oil at a cheap rate in return for protection.  It’s also no secret that the Bush family is crazy about the Saudis, doing business with them for decades; George Bush, Sr. was attending a Carlyle Group meeting with the kin of one Osama Bin Laden the morning of September 11.

10. JOHN ASHCROFT STOPPED FLYING COMMERCIALLY

Despite everyone in government playing stupid that they had no idea attacks were coming, former Attorney General John Ashcroft, was advised by the FBI to stop taking commercial flights as reported by CBS on July 26, 2001.

The FBI claimed this issue was the result of a threat assessment and “neither the FBI nor the Justice Department… would identify what the threat was, when it was detected or who made it,” CBS News reported.

11. THE PENTAGON VIDEO’S MISSING FRAME

Conspiracy theories surrounding 9-11 don’t end at Ground Zero. The Pentagon attack has also provided endless fodder for speculation.

These theories couldn’t be more instigated by the government’s handling of surveillance video footage showing the moment of impact. Video analysts claim the government has cut frame 20 from the tape, which is rumored to show the object that struck the Pentagon.  While the official report claims in was a plane, doubters say it was a missile.

During one of the first news reports at the site, CNN anchor Jamie Macintyre claimed that “there’s no evidence of a plane having crashed anywhere near the Pentagon.”

12. THE $2.3 TRILLION DOLLAR INVESTIGATION

On September 10, 2001, Donald Rumsfeld issued a press conference declaring that $2.3 trillion of the Pentagon’s money could not be accounted for.

The next day, the explosion at the Pentagon obliterated its accounting office and the ensuing destruction and confusion put the case of the money trail to rest.

13.  LARRY SILVERSTEIN’S INSURANCE POLICIES

On July 24, 2001, Larry Silverstein, the new leaseholder of the World Trade Center site , opened an insurance policy on the WTC which included coverage for terrorist attacks.

The policy was valued at $3.5 billion, but Silverstein stated that two acts of terror had occurred, and therefore he was entitled to claim each building’s collapse as a terrorist attack.

14. THE SHORTING OF AIRLINE STOCKS

On September 6, 2001, airline stocks, including United and American, suddenly had a put/call ratio 25 times higher than normal. Over the next few days, as the numbers kept climbing, Bloomberg reported a high on airline put options that was as much as 285 times their average.

This means that some unknown persons or a company made a bet that said “United and American Airlines are going to lose money very soon.”

15.  THE SPEED OF TOWER 7′S COLLAPSE

The internet is rife with homemade and professional videos that illustrate that WTC 7′s collapse was at free fall speed. This means that there was zero friction on its way down…

If we were to imagine 47 stories of steel, glass and concrete falling on top of itself, we would assume there’d be a natural collapsing effect of asymmetrical falling speeds. But this isn’t the case with WTC 7. The building, which wasn’t even hit by a plane, collapsed like a pancake without friction after a fire in the lobby.

16.  MARVIN BUSH

george W bush’s brother, Marvin Bush, was on the Board of Directors of the company Securacom, which maintained security for the WTC right until it collapsed on 9/11. The company also handled security for Dulles Airport and United Airlines, two other hot potatoes of 9/11 coincidences.

In the weeks leading up to 9/11 the towers had been on high alert due to bomb threats.  Many occupants reported numerous evacuations and fire drills in the time before the attacks, However, seemingly immediately, on September 6, the firm pulled all its bomb sniffing dogs out of the towers abruptly.

17.  DOV ZAKHEIM

Before Dov Zakheim was the Pentagon’s top budget officer, setting the price for the Iraq invasion, he was CEO of System Planning Corp, which, through its subsidiary Tridata Corp, oversaw the investigation into the 1993 WTC bombing, giving it access to all the WTC’s blueprints.

SPC sells many 9/11 conspiracy theory technologies: the Command Transmitter System, which allows pilotless remote flight control, a radar simulator for target acquisition used by the Navy and others and a flight termination system used to destroy drones in the event of malfunction or misses.

18.  BARBARA OLSEN CALLS FROM THE PLANE AT 34K FEET

Barbara was the wife of former U.S. Solicitor General, Ted Olsen, and a regular commentator on Fox News and CNN when she died on September 11th in Flight 77′s crash into the Pentagon.

In initial television interviews, Ted Olsen recounted Barbara calling him during flight on her cell phone and explaining the hijacking situation, saying there were men with box-cutters and that the passengers were planning on rushing the cockpit and securing the plane.

Did a highly connected Washington Insider pass information to her husband on a plane that many dispute ever hit the Pentagon and by cell phone, which is extremely difficult at that altitude? Of course, she might have misspoken and was calling from the backseat phone, but it’s a strange coincidence nonetheless.

19.  THE PATRIOT ACT WAS PASSED WITHIN DAYS OF 9-11

One month and fifteen days after 9/11, a 342-page document was produced while much of the government was in disarray and upended.  The assumption is that the pages of the Patriot Act had to of been written before 9/11 and then introduced to Congress at a moment of vulnerability.

Before the Patriot Act, we didn’ have body scanners at airports, warrantless wire taps and police officers actually needed a warrant before they could enter your home.

20.  CONTROLLED DEMOLITIONS, INC.

Controlled Demolitions, Inc. (yes, that is their real name), along with Tully Construction, were hired to clean up the debris in Ground Zero after the collapse.  Aside from both companies reporting the discovery of molten steel after the collapse, Controlled Demolitions Inc. also happened to be the clean-up crew on another of America’sfatal days of terrorism: the Oklahoma City bombings.

21. THE CASE OF ABLE-DANGER AND THE DENIAL OF WARNINGS

Able Danger was a classified military planning program intended to develop information on transnational terrorism.

Lt. Colonel Anthony Shaffer and four other members of the team allege they identified Mohammad Atta plus three other 9/11 terrorists as possible participants in the 1992 bombing.  He implies that this information was ignored by the brass.

After 9/11, Shaffer approached Phillip Zelikow of the 9-11 commission but Zelikow showed no interest in these claims. The Department of Defense then purchased every copy of Shaffer’s book, which detailed the story of Able Danger, and destroyed them.

22. BUSH COULDN’T TALK TO THE 9/11 COMMISSION ALONE

Our former Commander in Chief, leader of the free world, was not permitted to speak alone to the Commission investigators after the attacks.  His watchdog, Dick Cheney, was by his side every moment. Also, the dynamic duo only agreed to speak if the conversation was not under oath.

23. EYEWITTNESSES DESCRIBED “BOMBS” GOING OFF

Give Youtube a whirl and search for eyewitness accounts of explosions inside the towers.  These claims fuel rumors that the tower collapsed due to a controlled demolition.

In an amateur video interview with firefighters shortly after the buildings collapsed, each one of them mentioned explosions. Wouldn’t firefighters know the sound of an explosion when they heard one?

 Advantages of Octologues and HoloMats

From a Titanian perspective, the essential building-blocks of a plausible thriving ethical society are the Octologue and the Holotropic Matrix (HoloMat / HoloMatrix).  The Octologue and HoloMat / HoloMatrix are organizational models that convey a number of extraordinary benefits to their participants. For instance:

  • They are non-hierarchic – each participant having the same status as every other.
  • Their decisions are unanimous – thus avoiding the pitfalls of majority rule.
  • Their actions are highly ethical – each participant understanding the Ethics and committing to act in accordance therewith.
  • They are highly sensitive to feedback – and thus almost totally resistant to bureaucratization and corruption.
  • Their participants regularly engage in a communication process (Autopoesis – see below) that amplifies the creativity of the entire group.
  • They can be organized to achieve any desired ethical goal or objective – as businesses, schools, charities, etc.
  • When competing with hierarchic groups of similar size and having access to similar resources, an Octologue or HoloMat will win the competition, hands down!
  • Participants enjoy working in an Octologue/HoloMat environment far more than they do in a traditional hierarchic environment.

The Makeup of an Octologue – The Building-block of the Holotropic Matrix

John David Garcia spent twenty years researching how to maximize the creativity of a group of people working together on a joint project. After performing hundreds of experiments, he came up with an optimized model that he called an “Octet”, having the following characteristics:

  1. The group is comprised of eight people ± 1 – in other words 7 to 9 people, with 8 being best.
  2. The group is comprised of four men and four women ± 1 – again 4×4 is best, but 3×4 or 4×5 is acceptable.
  3. The group members all understand the principles of Ethics as exemplified by the Bill of Ethics and are committed to acting ethically to the best of their ability.
  4. Participation in the group is voluntary. Anyone can quit at any time for any reason.
  5. Only unanimous decisions by the group are recognized as true group decisions.
  6. A group member can only be expelled by the group if all the other members agree unanimously.
  7. The group has been trained in a communication protocol that facilitates the making of unanimous decisions.
  8. The group meets as often as it likes – once a week often being optimal – once a month being the least frequent occurrence that works – specifically to engage in a communication protocol called “Autopoesis”, a process that amplifies the group’s creativity.
  9. The group need not engage in Autopoesis at every meeting; but should do so at least once a month for meaningful results.

I was friends with John David for 17 years, until his demise in 2001, and participated in a number of his experiments in the field of maximizing creativity. My main personal contribution to John David’s work was to improve on his method of Autopoesis. In John David’s Octets, it took several days of training for a group of eight to learn the process. Using my knowledge of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and my 20 years experience as a clinical psychotherapist, I shortened the training time to just a few hours. Also, the onset of the Autopoesis phenomenon occurs much faster with my method. I call an Octet using my model of Autopoesis an “Octologue”. Details of the Autopoesis process are described below – but first let’s turn to the HoloMat.

The Holotropic Matrix – or HoloMat

It is obvious that many worthwhile projects require more than eight people. The solution is simple – the project is undertaken by multiple Octologues that have entered into an ethical contract with each other. More than twenty years ago I decided to call such a contractual concatenation of Octologues a Holotropic Matrix – or HoloMatTM for short – drawing a parallel between the way a hologram distributes information in such a way that the information contained is available throughout the hologram – and the way a HoloMat distributes both information and responsibility. There is no practical limit to the size of a HoloMat. For really big projects, a HoloMat could have millions of members – or even tens of millions.

One of the biggest differences between a hierarchy and a HoloMat is that a hierarchy is designed to avoid, eliminate or destroy corrective feedback and a HoloMat is designed to elicit and encourage corrective feedback.  In a Hierarchy the information flows down, in a HoloMat information flow UP!  Any participant in the HoloMat can give corrective feedback that will be valuable and be heard at any level of the organization!   - Whereas, in a hierarchy if they wanted your opinion, they would be giving it to you!

Autopoesis – The Most Unique Feature of Octologues and HoloMats

Trance: In order to explain Autopoesis most succinctly, I’ll first explain the word “trance” – a word that is much maligned and much misunderstood. Many people fear trance, thinking it’s a supernatural phenomenon – or even a “tool of the devil”. This is utter nonsense! Trance is merely something you do. It’s a label for paying attention to your sensory experience in a way that is different from what you do most of the time. It’s a totally natural phenomenon.

For instance, when you are waking up from sleep or in the process of falling asleep, you go through a stage where you are neither really asleep nor awake – it’s a trance state, an “altered state of conscious”. Similarly, when you are driving on a road with boring roadsides, you will often enter a “driving trance”, in which you are driving competently but also thinking of other things. You usually become aware of this when you approach your destination and realize that the time that has passed while you were driving “feels” less than you know it had to be. Such time distortion is one of many things you can do in trance that you can’t readily do in your normal state of awareness.

Hypnosis: While we’re on the subject of trance, let’s briefly talk about “hypnosis” – another word that is much misunderstood. When you are hypnotized, the operator (hypnotist) does not “put” you in a trance; nor can you be forced into a trance (barring the use of drugs). Rather the operator leads you into the trance state. Imagine I hold up my hand and ask you to look at it. You are, of course, free to refuse – or to do something completely different from what I’ve asked of you. So it is with hypnosis. The difference is that it is your subconscious that decides how you will respond – and in most people the subconscious is innately curious – and happy to learn new ways of perceiving. So trance is just another kind of learning experience.

And if you’re one of those folks who worry that a hypnotist might persuade them to do something against their will – or contrary to their morals – it just can’t happen. Given an obnoxious hypnotic suggestion, the subject will exit the trance and leave – often angrily.

Autopoesis – Finally

So what is Autopoesis and how does it work? Here are the basics. In a nutshell, Autopoesis is a group trance state. The members of an Octologue sit on comfortable chairs in a tight circle with their arms on the shoulders of their neighbors. Bare feet touch in the middle of the circle. A Bach fugue plays softly in the background. A hypnotic facilitator leads the experience verbally, making direct and indirect suggestions that enable the members of the group to alter their consciousness in a particular manner. The rules to which the group members have agreed are simple:

  • A subject of autopoetic interest has been agreed upon before the session;
  • Each member is encouraged to think about the subject with both his/her conscious and subconscious minds;
  • When a thought occurs to a member that seems interesting, and the member feels an urge to share the thought aloud, he/she withholds the information the first time the urge to speak occurs;
  • If the thought recurs, the person thinking it is obliged to speak it aloud – no matter how strange, weird, irrational, bizarre, or otherwise nonsensical it may seem.
  • The session continues until someone (anyone) in the group requests that it end.
  • Such sessions are usually recorded for later play-back – because participants often don’t recall what has been said – even if they were the one to have spoken.

It should be noted that it is often the strangest autopoetic comments that turn out to be the most creative and useful when carefully examined later. By this means the Octologue accesses information that no one in the group could access on their own – though many creative individuals use altered “mystical” states as part of their creative methodology. Still, the synergy of the group trance seems to act as an amplifier of each individual’s creativity – thus yielding a level of innovation greater than the sum of the individual participants’ capabilities.

What Is the Experience Like?

Some people appear to go to sleep – though this doesn’t prevent them from speaking. For most participants, the best description of the experience is that of a “shared lucid dream”. If you’ve seen it, think of the movie “Inception” with Leonardo DiCaprio for a moment. It is pleasant; it may be exciting at times; and many feel saddened or disappointed when it is over. This description applies equally well to some other forms of hypnotically induced group trances.

How Does It work?

We don’t really know for sure how Autopoesis works – but we have a hypothesis that fits the facts. According to author Michael Talbot, the universe is holographic.1 If this hypothesis is correct, and there is much evidence to support it, all the information that exists in the universe is available everywhere. A second postulate of the hypothesis is that the human brain is a quantum mechanical “machine” that is able, under the right conditions, to reach out into the holographic quantum universe and retrieve whatever information it is seeking – including both true information and false information. Science provides the tools and methodology by means of which we determine whether new information is true or false.

I must also point out that the Religious Society of Friends (a.k.a. Quakers) employs a method of group decision-making that bears some striking similarities to Autopoesis.2 Quiet contemplation… awaiting the inspiration of God… distrust of initial urges to speak… obligation to speak when the “presence” is perceived… requirement of unanimity for decisions… and much more. For certain, sitting in empty silence waiting for God’s presence to be felt…and God’s wishes to be heard and understood constitutes an “altered state of awareness” if there ever was one. Moreover, as John David Garcia pointed out, the creative acts of every great scientist may be seen as “mystical” experiences – making each a “scientific mystic” – distinctly different from a “mystical scientist”.3

The Grand Experiment:  Cultural Evolution

John David proved unequivocally, through hundreds of scientific experiments, that this process creates the greatest creativity in groups.  Creativity is what has brought us fire, the renaissance, the chair you are sitting in, and the computer you are reading this with.  Yet humanity is fraught with problems. POLICE STATE Obama Signs Unethical Patriot Act Extension of Spy Powers

US Usurper President Barack Obama conspired with criminals working the the congress to renew three of the most notorious provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act 05/27/2010, meaning that the whole of the act will remain in effect without modification through 2015.

The move reinforces once again the wholehearted support by the Democratic Party for the policies of domestic spying, torture, and violation of democratic rights, adopted during the Bush administration and continued by Obama.

The provisions were set to expire Thursday, compelling Obama, who is currently making a tour of Europe, to sign the bill electronically from France in order to avoid any lapse of the legal authority for US intelligence agencies to spy on the American people.

Such a gap would have no effect on ongoing investigations, but would have called into question additional authorization of spying under the act’s provisions. Regardless, Obama took extraordinary measures to make sure the bill was signed before midnight, getting up at 5:45 a.m. French time to sign the bill electronically with an autopen.

Obama signed the bill only hours after the Senate voted to approve it on a vote of 72 to 23, following a vote earlier in the day in the House of Representatives, where it passed by 250 to 153. In Thursday’s Senate vote, 30 out of 51 Senate Democrats voted for the bill, along with 41 Republicans and independent Joseph Lieberman, who caucuses with the Democrats.

For the past few days, Obama had a member of his staff on call to fly a copy of the bill to Europe, but the signing was held up by vocal opposition on the Senate floor from Senator Rand Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, who opposed the bill on libertarian grounds.

The first of the three provisions allows “roving wiretaps,” which are authorizations to intercept all the communications of a suspect, not just specific phone numbers or Internet addresses. Another portion, the so called “library provision,” or section 215, allows the government nearly unlimited access to business, purchase, and travel records of suspects. A third component, called the “lone wolf” provision, authorizes surveillance of individuals who are not suspected of connections with foreign organizations.

The USA PATRIOT Act was signed into law on October 26, 2001, as a key component of the assault on democratic rights initiated by the Bush Administration following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The bill broadened the powers of police and intelligence agencies to monitor communications and obtain medical, financial and business records.

Although most of the hundreds of provisions in the bill were made permanent on its passage, certain of the most invasive provisions were set to expire, or “sunset,” within four years. At the time, a of number Democrats feigned opposition to some of the bill’s proposal, but the inclusion of sunset provisions enabled them to accept the bill while claiming it was a temporary measure.

With the renewal of the three key provisions – among the most sweeping powers granted by the bill — the entire content of the act is still in place, nearly ten years later.

The initial renewal was made in two parts, first in 2005 and then in 2006, with the latter bill extending the authorizations for roving wiretaps and warrantless access to business records.

These controversial provisions were set to expire in 2010, but were reauthorized by the Democratic-controlled Congress for one year. At the time, a section of Democratic lawmakers were calling for cosmetic modifications to the law.

Now, following the 2010 elections, Obama has a more secure political base from which to extend the provisions for a longer period, and the Democrats have dropped nearly all pretenses to supporting even minor changes to the bill.

The Patriot Act was one of the most hated emblems of the Bush Administration, and contributed to the widespread popular hostility that enabled the Democrats to win congressional victories in 2006 and 2008, and propelled Obama to the presidency.

Prior to his election, Obama styled himself as an opponent of the very provisions he has now renewed for a second time. Speaking from the Senate floor on December 15, 2005, Obama condemned the so-called “gag orders” authorized by the Patriot Act, saying, “if someone wants to know why their own government has decided to go on a fishing expedition through every personal record or private document – through library books they’ve read and phone calls they’ve made – this legislation gives people no rights to appeal the need for such a search in a court of law. No judge will hear their plea, no jury will hear their case. This is just plain wrong.”

In 2007, in the run-up to his presidential campaign, Obama called for removing the most egregious sections of Patriot Act, saying, “No more illegal wire-tapping of American citizens. No more national security letters to spy on citizens who are not suspected of a crime.”

But according to a report released by the Department of Justice earlier this month, the use of the National Security Letters that Obama claimed to oppose doubled last year, from 6,114 individuals to 14,212 individuals.

The renewal of the Patriot Act provision, this time for four years, and with the enthusiastic support of the Obama Administration, refutes once more the claims that Obama and the Democrats represent any sort of political alternative to the policies of the Bush presidency. It was particularly notable that it was left to Paul, one of the most right-wing members of the Senate, to posture as the defender of civil liberties against the Democrats and Obama.

The Patriot Act was a cornerstone of the Bush Administration’s policies, which, based on the claims it was engaged in a “war on terror,” laid the foundation for perpetual war, and the essentially unlimited dominion of the state over civil liberties. This entire framework, from the war on terror, to the policy of torture, to illegal detention and wiretapping, was appropriated completely by the Obama Administration.

The extension of the Patriot Act is an expression of the ongoing political attack on the working class. While pursuing policies deliberately calculated to create high unemployment, the closures of schools, the layoff of hundreds of thousands of government workers, the Obama administration is laying the foundations to combat political opposition through police state measures.

When a mass movement against the Obama administration’s policies develops, there can be no doubt that the repressive machinery reauthorized in the Patriot Act will be set into motion against the danger of mass political opposition from working people.

Faith is better than truth.

To analyze this statement and its consequences we must examine both concepts, faith and truth.

The proponents of this lie are legion, particularly among those with a religious axe to grind.  Whether the subject is faith in Christ, faith in Allah, faith in government, faith in democracy, faith in communism, faith in prayer, faith in the Bible, or faith in the market, the central message is clear: above all “have faith in faith”.  So what is faith and why should we distrust it?

Faith , we are told, is belief without resort to evidence or proof.  At one time it was an article of Christian that the sun revolved around the earth.  Skeptics were labeled as heretic and punished severely for their doubts.  Some were even burned to death for their heresy.  Others were put to death for less notable doubts. In the Soviet Union millions died for questioning the infallibility of the Communist Party.  In Europe millions died for questioning the infallibility of the Catholic Church. Today in Muslim and Communist dominated countries, in African countries run by ruthless dictators, and in South American countries run by military juntas death penalties still occur frequently.  Such murders are not always perpetrated by the state.  Often independent groups enact them, or street mobs do, or even the victims’ family members throw the fatal stones or wield the killing knives; but the state approves or condones the murders and declines to intervene.

In more “civilized” cultures today punishments for lack of faith tend to be less severe; though they still occur.  Those who question the validity of unethical laws may be harassed by government authorities and subjected to invasive scrutiny.  The pogroms of the McCarthy era are a relatively recent example in which legions of U.S. citizens lost their jobs and were publicly humiliated for lack of faith in the Democratic Fallacy, as demonstrated by involvement in support of the Robin Hood  Fallacy.  The current “War on terrorism” seems headed in a similar direction.  More mundanely, medical practitioners in the United States often lose their licenses for practices unapproved by the American Medical Association, even when those practices are effective.  We recall that Louis Pasteur was almost drummed out of medicine for suggesting that microscopic bacteria were the cause of many illnesses.  He was considered a heretic, unfaithful to the orthodox medical dogma of his time.

In short, faith is dangerous.  It results in rigid political ideologies and religious dogmas, which are almost universally false.  This fosters and supports the manipulation of the public through lies and misdirection.  It demands that we accept what we are told without doubt, without question, even in the face of contradictory evidence.  This, in turn, creates fertile ground for political and religious persecution, for genocide and inquisitions, and for pogroms, crusades, and jihads.  Today we are as susceptible as ever in history to the emergence of leaders like Genghis Kahn, Caesar, Hitler, Stalin, Peron, Amin, and others of their ilk.  The minions of today’s BORG  are more subtle than these historical villains, but no less dangerous.

If we are to escape the MATRIX and combat the BORG , we must value the truth  above faith and know how to tell one from the other.

While we are on this subject, lets consider the general method for telling true information from false information.  The method is simple.  When we believe in the truth of false information, it lowers our intelligence, which, as you probably recall is our ability to predict and control events in our environment.  For instance, if we believe the world is flat, we find we are unable to navigate between points on the earth’s surface.  By contrast, if we believe the earth is essentially spherical, we soon learn to navigate our ships and planes quite accurately.  Belief in the truth of true information increases our intelligence.

As of today, science is a finely-honed tool for discriminating (objectively) true information from false information.  That is its only purpose, and it is very good at accomplishing this task.  This is the primary criterion for distinguishing a scientific discipline from other ways of organizing our thought processes.

When we value faith more than truth, we are at risk for subscribing to the truth of fantasies, superstitions, rigid dogmas, and false ideologies.  The dissemination of such falsehoods, in the interest of the perpetuation of political power and influence, is a great and persistent evil.

It should be noted at this point that most governments benefit from the influence of organized religion.  When people believe in false ideologies they are distracted from objective truth.  This reduction of the public’s collective intelligence makes people easier to deceive and manipulate.  The Soviet regime attempted to eliminate this problem by espousing atheism and outlawing religion.  In this case the “cure” turned out to be worse than the “disease”, as Communism became the state religion and many religious groups, especially Jews, were brutally persecuted.
