Presidential debate train wreck

Hour Long Train wreck AKA CBS Presidential Debate

The Hour Long Train Wreck otherwise known as the CBS Presidential Debate.

By Thomas Mario Costanzo and Bob Podolsky

In the United States of America every four years there is a pageant that occurs in American politics known as the “Presidential Election” used by B.O.R.G. agents to CON-vince the “Plundered Class of Slaves” they are somehow “Free” and using a process called “voting” which converts this supposed “Freedom” into a measurement for which new ruler who is going to represent your interests and in some way improve the standard of living for the greatest number of slaves.

The Mind Expanding CON

To attain this incredibly high level of brainwashing, B.O.R.G.  agents of the (G for) Government work in league with the supposedly “unbiased” and non-connected agency known as the “The News” with the (B for Business) “CBS”, to perform this incredibly mind expanding CON.  Being aware of this programming effort, I have been avoiding watching any of these supposed “debates” and prefer watching the highlights instead.  However on Saturday, 11/12/ 2011, a group of my friends got

together to watch this spectacle so I thought it was worth my while to hang out and watch what I now call “The Hour Long Train Wreck” which was broadcast as the “CBS Presidential debate”. First of all, we have to be aware that this spectacle resembles in no way a debate between the parties that are vying for the office of president.   A debate is an event where opposing viewpoints are actually discussed.  This is nothing more than a conversation between two parties on the same side.  There is the Media, which is controlled by Big Government forces and the Forces of more Big Government!  This charade is like a psychopath arguing with himself about which college girl he wants to rape and dismember!   All the parties save one on the stage were in favor of more government, more wars, and more taxes and by default less Freedom.  I don’t even need to mention the only candidate on the stage who was for more Freedom was Ron Paul, whom the BORG agents conveniently allowed to received a paltry 89 seconds of “air time” whereas thirty six HUNDRED other seconds was consumed primarily by the self anointed (B for Business) “Moderators” and the  (G for Government) “Ruler” hopefuls. I didn’t waste my time to actually run a timer to see how much time the “Media” gave themselves however we could approximate:  8 candidates, with 2 receiving virtually no questions, so 6 candidates plus the moderators who appointed themselves to speak between each question works out to 3,600 divided by 6 equals 600 seconds, that would give each candidate 10 – 60 second questions each, but that doesn’t take into consideration “Media talk time”.   The “Media” granted themselves more than 50% of the appearances plus interruptions, as every other person who spoke was the Republican media apologist Frank Luntz or his co-host.   Wouldn’t it be simpler to “elect” the media as our supposed “representative” and save all the time, expense and bother to consider any real solutions?

B-Business and G-Government Agents

The entire broadcast “debate” was 3,600 seconds.  Being “Conservative” the media talk time was less than half the total at 1,800 seconds.  Generally their B-Business agents “questions” were not as long as the G-Government agents “answers”.  Even were the “Media talk time” at approximately 30 percent and 1,000 seconds, they still had more than half the appearances and had total control over who would get what question when.  They also granted themselves unlimited interruptions.  Out of 3 questions to Ron Paul he was interrupted on 2 of them!  Even were the time distributed equally among the rest of the G-Government agents, they were unable to even do that correctly, as evidenced by Ron Paul receiving a measly 89 seconds working out to 2.5% of the total time! Taking the 3,600 seconds minus the media time of 1,000 seconds, leaves 2,600 seconds left and distributed evenly amongst the other 6 would only give each candidate 433 seconds each.  What kind of reasonable person would even consider this a “Debate”?  This is no different than regular television programming where the show “content” is simply there to fill time between commercials. This led me to think of several options that would actually lead to more discussion about the actual issues and coming up with solutions to the problems the government creates in the first place.  The simplest of course would be to ask every candidate the same question.  Other more elaborate ones might include having each candidate rotate being the moderator and have that person perform the question asking.  The candidate asking the questions could use the time however he saw fit, firing questions at one candidate or all of them.  The media’s sole job in this scenario would be to make sure each candidate would have equal time as the question asker.  A final possibility would be to run the debate like a reality show: have the Main Stream media moderator declare a general subject and have the candidate talk about what he would do in this area.  Then at the end of the round there would be a vote on line and or with a text and there would be a tabulation of the scores with nearly instantaneous results viewable as the show is progressing.

Boss Tweed

corrupt politicians

The B.O.R.G. is the Parasite

All the above mentioned possibilities which  would foster the creation of actual solutions and prevent the (B for Business) “Main Stream Media” from hijacking the debates as they have CONSISTENTLY done for years.  New York City “Boss” William M. Tweed, who by the way was one of THE most corrupt politicians in our nation’s history had a maxim of politics that states, “I do not care who does the electing, as long as I get to get to do the nominating”.  It is evident by their actions, the media is on the same team of the B.O.R.G. as the Government, and is used to create the illusion to the hypnotized public, that only more government will solve any problem.  The fact remains; it is the B.O.R.G.  that creates the problems in the first place – so they are not the ones we should run to for the solutions.

Pageants of Yore

This “Pageant” is similar to the medieval days when the “King” would put on a similar spectacle for the serfs who labored in his fields from dawn to dusk for their paltry existence.  The King would throw a party for the peons who labored to sustain his luxury.  They would have games, entertainment, and free food all to CON-vince them that the King was there to help out his serfs.  Just as in the current political “pageant”, nothing could be further from the truth!

Murdering Police officer Shawn Wilson Back on the Job!

by Morpheus

PAGE — Murdering Page Police Officer Shawn Wilson is now back on the job, brutalizing the residents of the town of Page, Arizona.  Officer Wilson got off scot free for the MURDER of bonded sovereign, William Dale Foust.  Foust was a business owner and was the Chief Justice for the Republic for Arizona.  Billy as he was known as an inspirational speaker who was standing up to the corporate De Facto government.  The De Facto Corporation Bill Foust Murdered by Officer Wilsonknown as the Coconino County Sheriff’s department determined Officer Wilson was justified in using deadly force when he shot and Murdered Page business owner William Foust on Fathers Day, June 19 2011, outside Foust’s B&T Marine.  Did anyone actually believe that this would not be the result of the investigation?

We are told Wilson, fired twice on Foust, after Foust backed up his truck and the Officer Wilson positioned himself, in such a way to appear as if Foust was backing into him

Page Police Chief Charlie Dennis said Monday “This County Attorney’s decision is good news for the Page Police Department and Officer Wilson as we have awaited the findings on the case. I believe it was important to have an outside, independent investigation into this incident to show transparency of the events that occurred that day.”  This is great news for the Police Chief, Officer Wilson and other tyrannical police officers around the country knowing once again the system exists so they can steal people’s property for the state, torture and murder people and get away with it.

Instead of having a trial like would happen in the event any person who is not a police officer, who shot and killed someone, the incident is done by police investigation.  With a investigation, such as this, the questions of whether the officer had a right to even question Foust, detain Foust or was the officer was trespassing on Foust’s property.

The De Facto Government Corporation had much evidence however one piece that was missing curiously is a toxicology report on Officer Wilson.

Officer Wilson’s account is that Foust had backed his vehicle abruptly in Wilson’s direction; most rational people would get out of the way.  Foust was not under arrest when Wilson was approaching.  Foust was not interested in communicating with the Officer and when Foust decided to leave, the Officer actions indicate it would be better to teach Foust a lesson about respecting the Police.

To teach Foust a lesson, Officer Wilson discharged two probes from the Taser at Foust during the scuffle but both missed the mark.  Then the office lost control of his torture device (tazer), now frightened he decided to Murder Foust.

As Foust charged Wilson with an outstretched arm, the officer stepped back and discharged his .40-caliber Glock duty weapon, the report said. The first of the two shots struck Foust in the lower left chest. The second shot struck Foust in the right forehead. The autopsy report indicated that Foust died of multiple gunshot wounds and that the manner was homicide, or non-accidental and caused by another person.

The report also showed no drugs or alcohol in Foust’s system. The news report doesn’t say anything about toxicology for the officer.

Foust had gained some notoriety by filing his paperwork that was on file with the county recorder, where he had separated his real man from his STRAWMAN.  He used this information to respond to a traffic case in adjacent Kane County, Utah.  He acknowledged the corporate status of the Kane County, so the judge sentenced him to 5 days in jail for a technical foul.

Foust also was well-known in the community of Page and online.

4 Trillion or 70 Trillion

Dylan: What are you talking about $4 trillion?
Karen: $4 trillion, I’m saying…
Dylan: We owe $70 trillion.  a $4 trillion solution, which is basically just a way for the Democrats to avoid dealing with this until 2017. I’m not here to talk about plans to deal with this till 2017. I’m saying we’ve got a real problem, and I’m tired of Republicans and Democrats who either want – Republicans who want to burn the place to the ground and Democrats, with all due respect, who want to offer a plan that gets it through the end of their second term of their presidency, and then screws me and my kids when it’s over!

And until we do that, we have to deal with the extraction that is at foot, it is the reason the financial markets are behaving the way they’re behaving, it is a mathematical fact! This is not some opinion; this is a mathematical fact. Tens of trillions of dollars are being extracted from the United States of America. Democrats aren’t doing it, Republicans are not doing it, an entire integrated system, financial system, trading system, taxing system, that was created by both parties over a period of two decades is at work on our entire country right now. And we’re sitting here arguing about whether we should do the $4 trillion plan that kicks the can down the road for the President for 2017, or burn the place to the ground, both of which are reckless, irresponsible, and stupid. And the fact of the matter is until we actually, and I’m sorry to lose my temper, but I tell you what, I’ve been coming on TV for three years doing this, and the fact of the matter is that there’s a refusal on both the Democratic and the Republican side of the aisle to acknowledge the mathematical problem, which is that the United States of America is being extracted. It’s being extracted through banking, it’s being extracted through trade, and it’s being extracted through taxation, and there’s not a single politician that has stepped forward, Susan, (Dylan Ron Paul has been talking about this for decades) to deal with this.

Susan: Yeah, but there’s only one right now, the leader of the free world, whether you like it or not, the President of the United States is arguably one of the most powerful individuals we have out there, and he’s our President.

Karen: But, Susan, what you’re saying is exactly the point that Dylan is making. It’s not about one guy; it’s about all of them.

Susan: No, I actually disagree. I think Dylan – it is about one guy.

Dylan: I agree with her. It is about one guy.

Karen: What would you like him to do? What do you want him to do?

Your Congress is BOUGHT

Dylan: I would like him to go to the people of the United States of America and say, “People of the United States of America, your Congress is bought, your Congress is incapable of making legislation on healthcare, banking, trade, or taxes because if they do it, they will lose their political funding and they won’t do it. But I’m the President of the United States, and I won’t have a country that is run by a bought Congress. So I’m not going to work with a bought Congress and try to be Mr. Big Guy, ‘I’m working with a bought Congress’, I’m going to abandon the bought Congress like Teddy Roosevelt did, and I’m going to go to the people of the United States and I’m going to say, ‘You’ve got a bought Congress,” and until we get rid of the bought Congress, which is Jimmy Williams constant point, which is get the money out of politics, and until a President says that’s the problem and says he’s going to fix it, there is no policy that I can possibly see no matter how brilliant your idea may be or your idea or my idea or her idea or your idea at home, is that idea will not happen as long as there’s a capacity to basically fire a politician who disagrees with me by taking funding away from him. Is that a fair assessment?

Jimmy: Money in politics is the root of all political evil. It is corruption at its worst. And until we step up and kick that out of the park, it’s going to be the same system all the way.

Dylan: And only the President can do that.

Jimmy: No, no, no, Congress has to do it, too. Congress has to do it, too.

Dylan: But I’ll tell you what, how bad does it have to get? How much money has to be extracted? How many things have to be heard?

Karen: [cross-talking 07:59] tax. Okay, physically, what do you do?

Dylan: You go and give a speech to…

Karen: Right now.

Dylan: Yeah, right now. You say…

Karen: And then what happens tomorrow?

Dylan: Tomorrow, what happens is you begin the process of actually investing in solving the problems, so I come out and I say, “How?” I create an infrastructure bank with 2% blending immediately. There’s – once I explain to people the problem, once I explain to you that you have cancer, once you understand how screwed up your trade, tax, and banking policies are, believe me, you will have no issue when I incorporate an infrastructure bank that I fund with repatriated offshore money that I bring in and then use to create 2% direct lending to every business in America because when you realize that the banking system is fully corrupt and defrauding us, and I come out and say that, which is what I want my President to do, then at that exact moment I say, “You know what, we’ve got a screwed up situation here, people. You all know it, and now I’m going to admit it.” And as a result, not only have I admitted it, but we’re going to begin the process of solving it like grown ups. They did in World War II, they did it after the Civil War, they did it in Latin America with the Brady Bond; we are not seeing it happen now.

The panel stays a little more emotional than I anticipated getting at work this afternoon, but what am I going to do? The middle-class attempting to fight back in Wisconsin…what today’s big recall election in Wisconsin tells us about the mood in America; Ed Shultz joins us. And then Wisconsin, the jumping off point for our latest blog on DylanRatigan.com, as Wisconsin is a state where two-thirds of corporations pay zilch in taxes, while teachers and cops pick up the slack. That doesn’t sound like fun. Check that out on DylanRatigan.com after the show. Remember, you can always weigh in on Twitter or at DylanRatigan on Facebook.

THE HOLOTROPIC MATRIX (HoloMat) and THE OCTOLOGUE

THE HOLOTROPIC MATRIX (HoloMat )

and THE OCTOLOGUE

by Bob Podolsky

 Advantages of Octologues and HoloMats

From a Titanian perspective, the essential building-blocks of a plausible thriving ethical society are the Octologue and the Holotropic Matrix (HoloMat / HoloMatrix).  The Octologue and HoloMat / HoloMatrix are organizational models that convey a number of extraordinary benefits to their participants. For instance:

  • They are non-hierarchic – each participant having the same status as every other.
  • Their decisions are unanimous – thus avoiding the pitfalls of majority rule.
  • Their actions are highly ethical – each participant understanding the Ethics and committing to act in accordance therewith.
  • They are highly sensitive to feedback – and thus almost totally resistant to bureaucratization and corruption.
  • Their participants regularly engage in a communication process (Autopoesis – see below) that amplifies the creativity of the entire group.
  • They can be organized to achieve any desired ethical goal or objective – as businesses, schools, charities, etc.
  • When competing with hierarchic groups of similar size and having access to similar resources, an Octologue or HoloMat will win the competition, hands down!
  • Participants enjoy working in an Octologue/HoloMat environment far more than they do in a traditional hierarchic environment.

The Makeup of an Octologue – The Building-block of the Holotropic Matrix

John David Garcia spent twenty years researching how to maximize the creativity of a group of people working together on a joint project. After performing hundreds of experiments, he came up with an optimized model that he called an “Octet”, having the following characteristics:

  1. The group is comprised of eight people ± 1 – in other words 7 to 9 people, with 8 being best.
  2. The group is comprised of four men and four women ± 1 – again 4×4 is best, but 3×4 or 4×5 is acceptable.
  3. The group members all understand the principles of Ethics as exemplified by the Bill of Ethics and are committed to acting ethically to the best of their ability.
  4. Participation in the group is voluntary. Anyone can quit at any time for any reason.
  5. Only unanimous decisions by the group are recognized as true group decisions.
  6. A group member can only be expelled by the group if all the other members agree unanimously.
  7. The group has been trained in a communication protocol that facilitates the making of unanimous decisions.
  8. The group meets as often as it likes – once a week often being optimal – once a month being the least frequent occurrence that works – specifically to engage in a communication protocol called “Autopoesis”, a process that amplifies the group’s creativity.
  9. The group need not engage in Autopoesis at every meeting; but should do so at least once a month for meaningful results.

I was friends with John David for 17 years, until his demise in 2001, and participated in a number of his experiments in the field of maximizing creativity. My main personal contribution to John David’s work was to improve on his method of Autopoesis. In John David’s Octets, it took several days of training for a group of eight to learn the process. Using my knowledge of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and my 20 years experience as a clinical psychotherapist, I shortened the training time to just a few hours. Also, the onset of the Autopoesis phenomenon occurs much faster with my method. I call an Octet using my model of Autopoesis an “Octologue”. Details of the Autopoesis process are described below – but first let’s turn to the HoloMat.

The Holotropic Matrix – or HoloMat

It is obvious that many worthwhile projects require more than eight people. The solution is simple – the project is undertaken by multiple Octologues that have entered into an ethical contract with each other. More than twenty years ago I decided to call such a contractual concatenation of Octologues a Holotropic Matrix – or HoloMatTM for short – drawing a parallel between the way a hologram distributes information in such a way that the information contained is available throughout the hologram – and the way a HoloMat distributes both information and responsibility. There is no practical limit to the size of a HoloMat. For really big projects, a HoloMat could have millions of members – or even tens of millions.

One of the biggest differences between a hierarchy and a HoloMat is that a hierarchy is designed to avoid, eliminate or destroy corrective feedback and a HoloMat is designed to elicit and encourage corrective feedback.  In a Hierarchy the information flows down, in a HoloMat information flow UP!  Any participant in the HoloMat can give corrective feedback that will be valuable and be heard at any level of the organization!   - Whereas, in a hierarchy if they wanted your opinion, they would be giving it to you!

Autopoesis – The Most Unique Feature of Octologues and HoloMats

Trance: In order to explain Autopoesis most succinctly, I’ll first explain the word “trance” – a word that is much maligned and much misunderstood. Many people fear trance, thinking it’s a supernatural phenomenon – or even a “tool of the devil”. This is utter nonsense! Trance is merely something you do. It’s a label for paying attention to your sensory experience in a way that is different from what you do most of the time. It’s a totally natural phenomenon.

For instance, when you are waking up from sleep or in the process of falling asleep, you go through a stage where you are neither really asleep nor awake – it’s a trance state, an “altered state of conscious”. Similarly, when you are driving on a road with boring roadsides, you will often enter a “driving trance”, in which you are driving competently but also thinking of other things. You usually become aware of this when you approach your destination and realize that the time that has passed while you were driving “feels” less than you know it had to be. Such time distortion is one of many things you can do in trance that you can’t readily do in your normal state of awareness.

Hypnosis: While we’re on the subject of trance, let’s briefly talk about “hypnosis” – another word that is much misunderstood. When you are hypnotized, the operator (hypnotist) does not “put” you in a trance; nor can you be forced into a trance (barring the use of drugs). Rather the operator leads you into the trance state. Imagine I hold up my hand and ask you to look at it. You are, of course, free to refuse – or to do something completely different from what I’ve asked of you. So it is with hypnosis. The difference is that it is your subconscious that decides how you will respond – and in most people the subconscious is innately curious – and happy to learn new ways of perceiving. So trance is just another kind of learning experience.

And if you’re one of those folks who worry that a hypnotist might persuade them to do something against their will – or contrary to their morals – it just can’t happen. Given an obnoxious hypnotic suggestion, the subject will exit the trance and leave – often angrily.

Autopoesis – Finally

So what is Autopoesis and how does it work? Here are the basics. In a nutshell, Autopoesis is a group trance state. The members of an Octologue sit on comfortable chairs in a tight circle with their arms on the shoulders of their neighbors. Bare feet touch in the middle of the circle. A Bach fugue plays softly in the background. A hypnotic facilitator leads the experience verbally, making direct and indirect suggestions that enable the members of the group to alter their consciousness in a particular manner. The rules to which the group members have agreed are simple:

  • A subject of autopoetic interest has been agreed upon before the session;
  • Each member is encouraged to think about the subject with both his/her conscious and subconscious minds;
  • When a thought occurs to a member that seems interesting, and the member feels an urge to share the thought aloud, he/she withholds the information the first time the urge to speak occurs;
  • If the thought recurs, the person thinking it is obliged to speak it aloud – no matter how strange, weird, irrational, bizarre, or otherwise nonsensical it may seem.
  • The session continues until someone (anyone) in the group requests that it end.
  • Such sessions are usually recorded for later play-back – because participants often don’t recall what has been said – even if they were the one to have spoken.

It should be noted that it is often the strangest autopoetic comments that turn out to be the most creative and useful when carefully examined later. By this means the Octologue accesses information that no one in the group could access on their own – though many creative individuals use altered “mystical” states as part of their creative methodology. Still, the synergy of the group trance seems to act as an amplifier of each individual’s creativity – thus yielding a level of innovation greater than the sum of the individual participants’ capabilities.

What Is the Experience Like?

Some people appear to go to sleep – though this doesn’t prevent them from speaking. For most participants, the best description of the experience is that of a “shared lucid dream”. If you’ve seen it, think of the movie “Inception” with Leonardo DiCaprio for a moment. It is pleasant; it may be exciting at times; and many feel saddened or disappointed when it is over. This description applies equally well to some other forms of hypnotically induced group trances.

How Does It work?

We don’t really know for sure how Autopoesis works – but we have a hypothesis that fits the facts. According to author Michael Talbot, the universe is holographic.1 If this hypothesis is correct, and there is much evidence to support it, all the information that exists in the universe is available everywhere. A second postulate of the hypothesis is that the human brain is a quantum mechanical “machine” that is able, under the right conditions, to reach out into the holographic quantum universe and retrieve whatever information it is seeking – including both true information and false information. Science provides the tools and methodology by means of which we determine whether new information is true or false.

I must also point out that the Religious Society of Friends (a.k.a. Quakers) employs a method of group decision-making that bears some striking similarities to Autopoesis.2 Quiet contemplation… awaiting the inspiration of God… distrust of initial urges to speak… obligation to speak when the “presence” is perceived… requirement of unanimity for decisions… and much more. For certain, sitting in empty silence waiting for God’s presence to be felt…and God’s wishes to be heard and understood constitutes an “altered state of awareness” if there ever was one. Moreover, as John David Garcia pointed out, the creative acts of every great scientist may be seen as “mystical” experiences – making each a “scientific mystic” – distinctly different from a “mystical scientist”.3

The Grand Experiment:  Cultural Evolution

John David proved unequivocally, through hundreds of scientific experiments, that this process creates the greatest creativity in groups.  Creativity is what has brought us fire, the renaissance, the chair you are sitting in, and the computer you are reading this with.  Yet humanity is fraught with problems. Let us release ourselves from this self imposed bondage.   I am prepared to share the knowledge of how we may be able to do this with those individuals whose personal evolution brings us together.   Contact me now at 561-542-5800 and we will perform the “Grand Experiment”, lest this be our last generation.  Albert Einstein said “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones

Now that  you know what a HoloMat is, let’s see how this is reflected in the Constitution for Titania.

Hierarchies are systematically stupid and inefficient, for the following reasons.

1. Hayekian information problems:

The people in authority who make the rules interfere with the people who know how to do the job and are in direct contact with the situation. The people who make the rules know nothing about the work they’re interfering with. The people who make the rules are unaccountable to the people who do know how to do the work. Consequently, all authority-based rules create suboptimal results and irrationality when they interfere with the judgment of those in direct contact with the situation.

People in authority make stupid decisions because the people who know more than they do are their subordinates, and the only people who can hold them accountable know even less than they do.

The only way the people doing the work can get anything done is to treat irrational authority as an obstacle to be routed around, the same way the Internet treats censorship as damage and routes around it.

2. Groupthink:

Hierarchies systematically suppress negative feedback on the results of their policies. As R.A. Wilson said, nobody tells the truth to a man with a gun. Hierarchies are very good at telling naked emperors how good their clothes look.

Hierarchies also systematically suppress critical thinking ability in their members. Psychological studies have found that people in positions of authority become less likely to evaluate communications based on their internal logic, and instead evaluate them based on the authority of the source.

3. Opacity from above: A major theme of “Seeing Like a State,” by James Scott, is that states try to make populations “legible” from above, and hence more amenable to control. We might add a “seeing like a boss” corrollary about the analogous phenomenon inside hierarchies. The problem is that such legibility is very costly, if not impossible, to achieve.

Hospitals are a good example. Most of the paperwork that nurses are required to fill out results from the fact that management doesn’t trust them to do what it wants them to do without some independent means of verification. But the paperwork is worthless, unless management operates on the assumption that those same nurses can be trusted to fill out the paperwork honestly. It all boils down to the fact that management knows their interests are diametrically opposed to those of the nurses, but there’s no way to actually get inside the nurses’ heads and look out through their eyes and thereby overcome this fundamental agency problem. So bosses constantly look for new, ineffectual gimmicks to get around the problem, resulting in endless layers of new paperwork that are as useless as the old paperwork.

Conclusion. To the extent that hierarchical organizations leave subordinates with freedom of exit, they are not coercive in the same way that the state is. But given that hierarchies are artificially prevalent because of state policies, and those who work within them do so as a necessary evil resulting from artificial constraints on the range of competing opportunities, the hierarchy resembles a microcosm of statist society, in which the agency and knowledge problems of authority internally mirror the irrationalities created by state authority in society at large.

So long as the predominant production methods required large aggregations of capital beyond the means of individuals and small groups, and corporate hierarchies were propped up by state ones, the cultural pathologies of hierarchy were surmountable. But technological change is rapidly eroding the requirement for capital outlays, nullifying the advantages of capital ownership, and increasing the vulnerability of hierarchy to external and internal attacks by self-organized networks.

So hierarchies, increasingly, lack the resources to compensate for their handicaps — even with help from the state. The state will only bankrupt itself, along with corporate hierarchies, in trying to prop up the old order.

The Desired Outcome

The Desired Outcome

Since the dawn of humanity, humanity has craved and dreamed for the advent of a just, verdant, and peaceful social order. A society that is truly thriving and most individuals would have rich, full, creative lives. A society where all men and women are truly EQUAL.  Some people might have more responsibility than others; no one or no group would be able to coerce another person or group using fraud or force!   A society where peace is the norm, crime was non-existent and all people have easy access to healthy food, clean water and non chem-trail laced skies. A society where humans lived in harmony with each other with the earth and all its creatures.   Such a society is hard to describe because such it would be everything that the society of the 21st century earth is NOT! Are we closer to that kind of society today than we were EIGHT THOUSAND years ago – when government, as we know it, was invented? I think not.

The Great Question

For about the past twenty years I have sought the answer to one Great Question: What has to happen for such a desirable world to be manifest? To find an answer to this question I have applied a wide variety of intellectual tools, including:

  • The scientific method,

The exciting upshot of this lengthy search is a potentially valid answer to the Great Question. It may not be the only answer – but it is very likely a good answer – certainly, an answer worthy of your serious consideration.

The Big Problem

In order to understand my answer to the Great Question, it is necessary to grasp the nature of the Big Problem – the obstacle that has kept our species from really thriving since we emerged from the forests and caves millennia ago. My analysis reveals that such evils as war, terrorism, hunger, poverty, genocide, race-hatred, widespread addiction, inter-personal violence, and the like, are actually all symptoms of the same phenomenon – namely: Inadequate Socio-cultural Evolution.

Unlike genetic evolution that has thus far been beyond human capability to control, or even influence, socio-cultural evolution is extra-genetic – and therefore susceptible to human choices and decisions. Unlike the tremendous advances of technological evolution (which is also extra-genetic), our socio-cultural evolution hasn’t advanced significantly since feudal times. While the names of our institutions have changed, the basic methods by which they operate, and the principles underlying those methods, haven’t changed at all in at least eight thousand years – and possibly much longer. In a nutshell, our species’ institutions continue to make very unethical decisions on the same basis that they always have in the past.

Of special interest in the field of socio-cultural evolution is our grasp of ethics. The general lack of understanding of the most basic principles of ethics is manifest in almost all our institutions – particularly big businesses, organized religions, and governments. The result is that law-makers routinely enact laws that coerce us into obeying laws that forbid us to act ethically – or what is worse, require us to engage in acts that are unethical. Governments (all of them) are thus reduced to mere power-brokerage cartels that benefit a very small number of individuals at the expense of billions of others. In the analysis that follows I explore the fundamental ethical principles that drive our societal development, the effect our ethics have on our laws, and how our laws serve the hidden purposes that underlie the way our governments and other institutions function. Following this analysis, I propose a Grand Experiment (for which I am asking your support) that could potentially alter the course of extra-genetic human evolution in a most desirable way – and I provide evidence supporting the decision to proceed.

WHY TAXATION IS SLAVERY

WHY TAXATION IS SLAVERY

By Robert E. Podolsky

I have maintained for some time that taxation is government’s most criminal enterprise and that it is, in fact, a form of slavery.  Yet it continues to baffle me that so many people cannot or will not see the obvious truth in these statements and insist on arguing that taxation is necessary to humanity’s well being and that it is not slavery at all.  “The greatest good for the greatest number” goes the usual utilitarian refrain…which I maintain is one of the greater falsehoods…for the usual reasons.  But since these reasons are so elusive to the greatest number I have decided to explain my reasoning in language that (hopefully) anyone can understand, thus settling this dispute once and for all in the eyes of any reasonable person. While a whole book might easily be devoted to this subject, it is my intention to present here only a brief treatise on the subject in order to make the information as accessible as possible.

I present herein three separate, but not entirely independent, arguments to make my case.  I call them respectively: 1.     The Property Rights Argument, 2.     The Robin Hood Argument, and 3.     The Smart Business Argument.

The Property Rights Argument is the one usually presented by libertarians in the manner of the late Murray Rothbard. Unfortunately, Rothbard presupposed that most people would accept intuitively that people own their own bodies. From this assumption he then reasoned that this implied the existence of property rights and hence absolute ownership of whatever the individual might create or produce.

While the reasoning behind this argument is correct, few people accept it because it is counter-intuitive.  It is counter-intuitive because as children it is obvious to us that our parents own our bodies, rather than we ourselves.  When we go to school our teachers appear to own us.  And when we grow up and become employees it often seems that our employers own us.

We also observe as adults that if we refuse to pay taxes we can involuntarily lose possession of all our assets, thus demonstrating that government has a higher claim than we do to whatever we would like to believe we own.  In the midst of such a society it is hardly surprising that most of us are unconvinced that we have any property rights not mitigated by government decree. So it follows that if indeed we have any property rights worth discussing we will need some other way to discover this fact than simply agreeing with the Rothbard assertion that we own our own bodies.

Fortunately there is another avenue of reasoning that we can call upon for this purpose.  It begins with the definition of an ethical act: An act is ethical if it increases the creativity of anyone, including the person acting, without limiting or diminishing the creativity of anyone. As I have shown elsewhere, this definition is logically equivalent to similar definitions in which the word “creativity” is replaced by “love”, “awareness”, “personal evolution”, or any of a potentially large set of resources that are logical equivalents of creativity.  I have also conclusively shown elsewhere that the utilitarian definition defining an ethical act as one that does more good than harm is invalid, and that because of this that it follows by simple logic that ethical ends cannot ever be attained by unethical means no matter who (or how many) benefits from such an act[1].

Now let’s ask the question, “Might it be ethical to steal someone’s possessions, either by force or by deceit?”  And the answer is a resounding, “NO!”  The scientist depends on her computer.  The poet depends on his word processor.  The artist needs her brushes and paints.  Steal these things from someone and they are rendered less creative.  By definition such an act is unethical…bad…evil.  It follows logically from this that if we have the “right” to be treated ethically then we must have the “right” to own whatever we are able to acquire without stealing from someone else…and that therefore no one has the right, for any reason, to deprive us of the fruit of our bodies’ labor.

By similar reasoning it follows that we do indeed own our own bodies and that any act which abrogates that right of ownership is an act of slavery because it diminishes our self-ownership.  If our physical and financial possessions indeed contribute to our creativity, then it follows that the systematic removal of any such resources from our possession is evil and is a form of enslavement.  Taxation is just such an act.

The Robin Hood Argument is even easier to understand.  We begin the discussion with my asking you the question, “Would it be all right with you if I stole your assets?” And of course your answer is, “No.” Next I ask, “Would it matter to you whether the theft was by force or by fraud?” Again you answer, “No.”

Then I ask, “Would you care what I did with the money?” Again, “No.”

Then I ask, “What if I gave the money away…would that make it okay?” Again, “No.”

“Suppose I gave half the money to a lot of poor people and they liked it and wanted more.  Would that make the theft okay with you?” Still, “No.”

“Suppose all those poor folks elected a bunch of congressmen and I gave the other half of your money to them to spend as they wished.  Would that make the theft okay with you?” Still, “No.”

“Finally, suppose those congressmen got together and wrote a piece of paper saying it was all right for me to steal from you and give away the proceeds; and they called that piece of paper a ‘tax law’.  Would that make the theft okay with you?”

At this point I hope you have the good sense to continue saying, “No. NO. NO!”

Now I put it to you that the above description is exactly the reality that you face in relation to government as we know it today.  The “I” in the example above is the IRS.  It takes away your money by means of coercion, intimidation, and force and gives it to others who claim to legitimize the theft on the basis of majority rule, public benefit, wealth distribution, homeland security, etc., etc., etc.  To the extent that the above description is correct, the government is a thieving parasite and you are its host.  To the extent that you don’t get to keep the fruit of your labor the government owns it, not you; and to that extent you are a slave.

I should say a few words here about how the government steals from you.  It does so in three ways.  First it taxes you directly by means of income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, parking and traffic tickets, court imposed fines, school and utility district assessments, licensing and registration fees, gasoline, alcohol, and tobacco taxes, etc.

Then there are taxes passed on to you indirectly.  Most of these are taxes paid by the businesses which make or import the things you buy.  Every time the government requires a tariff for the importation of foreign goods or raw materials it requires you to pay more and get less.  If your Toyota dealer pays a tariff, then you are paying more for a car than the free market would charge.  If you save yourself the added expense by buying a Ford, then in effect your government insists you settle for an inferior product so that Ford can make a bigger profit.  This amounts to an indirect tax.  Either way value is taken away from you and given to someone else who didn’t earn it.

And finally there are hidden taxes.  The most blatant example of a hidden tax is inflation…the illusion of rising prices. Every time the Federal Reserve prints money for the government to spend, the government gets the full value of each Federal Reserve “dollar” printed.  But shortly after the money is spent by the government it is absorbed by the economy and the value of every dollar in your bank account is diminished. In effect the government thereby steals the buying power of all of your money without your even knowing that you are being taxed[2].

All in all, if one includes direct, indirect, and hidden taxes, the average American gives up about 50% of their gross income to local, state, and federal authorities by way of taxes.  That means that fully half the fruit of your labor is forfeit whether you like it or not. Is it any less odious to be a half time slave than it would be to live as a full time slave?  I think not?  Slavery is slavery.

The Smart Business Argument starts with a fantasy.  Imagine I am a slave owner and you are one of my hard-working slaves whom I use as labor in my agricultural business.  They (and you) plant my fields and harvest my crops, which I sell at a substantial profit.  My business depends on them.  While you may think that slave labor is free to me, the fact is that it is not. Besides the initial purchase of my slaves, I have to maintain them.  I feed, clothe, and house them…albeit cheaply, but it’s not free.  I pay for whatever medical expenses I decide to invest in their health and I pay for their management, which includes the services of bounty hunters who round them up for me when they escape. I also have to pay for the tools and implements that my slaves use and the seeds that they plant.  All in all it’s an expensive operation.

What is more, I am limited in the geographical scope over which I can deploy my slaves, so my business is pretty much limited to the acreage contiguous to my home.  This limits my profits still further.

Not wishing to remain so limited I consult a savvy business adviser and soon create a labor cartel together with a number of my colleagues.  The cartel in turn goes into partnership with the government.  Soon thereafter I round up all my slaves to attend a meeting at which I make the following announcements:

“As of today your life will be different.  Subject to certain rules and conditions, you and all other slaves will hereby be set free.  The purpose of the rules is to reimburse me and my colleagues for the investment that we have made in you.  When that debt has been paid, you will be completely free for all time.

These are the rules:

1. You can live anywhere in the world you wish.  As of today you can live in any housing you can afford.  You pay for your own.

2. You can do any kind of work you want to do. You will work whatever hours you and your employer agree upon.

3. You will attend school through at least the age of 18 in preparation for your work.  You will pay for your schools through taxes.

4. You may own a business if you so desire and are able to acquire the capital needed to start it.

5. You will carry an identification token all your life and through it your income will be tracked. I will know where you are working and for whom.  I will know how much you earn and where you bank.

6. Directly and indirectly you will pay me and my colleagues 50¢ out of every dollar that you earn.  This will apply toward payment of your debt to me.

7. If you need to borrow additional money and can convince a bank that you are a good ‘credit risk’, money will be created for you with the stroke of a computer key. This money costs the bank nothing to create and represents no risk to the bank, but if you fail to repay it with interest the bank will take away your house, your car, or any other assets you have that the bank required as collateral for the loan.

8. When the government needs to spend more money than it has collected in taxes, it will ‘borrow’ it from the Federal Reserve System which is a cartel of the world’s biggest banks. It will not need your permission to do this, but you and your descendants will be responsible for repayment of the loan. It will simply be added to whatever you already owe[3].  Naturally the value (buying power) of all the money (Federal Reserve Notes) in your possession will steadily diminish as the Fed continues this practice, so of course your debt to me and my colleagues will never be repaid in full.

9. In order to maintain your sense of freedom you will participate in general elections at regular intervals.  The majority vote will determine who occupy the positions of elected officialdom. But the rules above will never be changed to your advantage…only to the advantage of the banking and labor cartels that are actually the owners of the whole system (including you).  Accordingly, discussion of these rules will never be part of the general debate at election time.

10. The local, state, and federal governments of the United States will be responsible for enforcement of the rules above in keeping with its partnership in the banking and labor cartels.  The courts will adjudicate any conflicts that arise; but discussion of these rules will be forbidden in court and any reference to them will be deemed ‘frivolous’ by the courts.  In this way the rules become in themselves a form of law more potent and inviolable than the state and federal constitutions and local charters that might otherwise interfere with the working of the rules.”

The rules above are just “smart business” from the viewpoint of the modern slave owner.  Costs are held to a minimum.  Productivity is maximized.  The slaves manage themselves.  There are no rebellions to be concerned with.  And yet the slaves are easy to manipulate and control using modern methods of scholastic indoctrination and media communication.  What a blessing that most of the slaves have no inkling whatever that they are in fact slaves.  This fact alone makes the whole system worth whatever sacrifices the slave owners have made to create it, because there are no organized modes of resistance to the system. Even the organized religions don’t protest the half-time slavery imposed on the public.  What a deal for the owners of the system!

In Conclusion, I ask you not to feel too badly if you didn’t get it before now…if you didn’t realize that you are a slave.  Most of us don’t get it and billions of dollars are spent each year to keep us in the dark about it.  By maintaining the illusion that we are not slaves the system’s owners remain free to continue their perpetuation of the system, with the eventual (though not too distant) goal of taking over the whole world.  If we don’t act promptly and with vigor that goal will be attained…very probably within your lifetime.  As the goal is neared the deceit will become less and less subtle and the limitations on our freedom more and more pronounced.

With the exceptions of 1865 and 1920 (emancipation and suffrage) we have had less freedom every year than the year before.  This series of books [4] points the way to the only viable solution that I can see to the, otherwise inevitable, outcome of global slavery and the concomitant degradation of the social and physical environments of the world…to the detriment of all…including those who will be world’s rulers.  It is a universal characteristic of parasites that, in the end, they destroy their host and with it themselves.

Now let’s look at another atrocity – the attacks of 9/11/2011. [1] See Appendix B of “BORG WARS” by Robert E.
